Menu Plan: Week of April 21, 2013

By | April 21, 2013

I don’t really want to talk about the weather. It’ll make me sound so old! Also redundant. I feel like all bloggers everywhere are talking about the pseudo-spring that’s playing with us.

So I’ll just say that if you’re wondering why there are two soups on the menu for a week in late April…that’s why. Come visit me during the week for a little magic I call lasagna soup (yes, you read correctly) and a special treat for Pesach Sheini.

Are we supposed to eat matzah on Pesach sheni?

There’s an inyan (minhag?) to do it: http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/470865/jewish/Pesach-Sheni.htm

The lovely man who hands out the Yisrael Hayom at Rami Levy reminded me to eat matzah on Tuesday evening – so sweet, though a little random! Soup is on our menu too – making your sweet potato/red lentil soup because it still feels like winter (Israel winter, of course, what they call spring back on the east coast…)

I love that guy. But I’ll admit that I’m still a little sore over being refused extra copies of the paper during Pesach cleaning season.
