Menu Plan: Week of Aug. 11, 2013

By | August 11, 2013

My sister-in-law is here with us for a few days, devotedly doting on her nephew who turns 8 months on the day she returns to Canada. With this visit, all five of my husband’s siblings have been here since the baby was born. Yep, five sibling visits in eight months! Now I’m waiting for my own siblings to follow suit.

While SIL is with the baby, I’ll be plugging away at work and — here’s hoping — also putting a few things in the freezer for Rosh Hashanah. Anyone else out there working on Rosh Hashanah dishes?

This week on the blog: An easy, healthy ratatouille and a light and flavorful coleslaw alternative. We have to work off last week’s cupcakes, right?

So nice! Enjoy the help! Where do you get edamame?

From the freezer of a friend who was moving! I’m going to look for it in the makolet and Rami Levi. It’s a big green bag with white lettering in Hebrew and English (“frozen soy beans – edamame”) and a Badatz Agudat Yisrael hechsher.
