Menu Plan: Week of April 27, 2014

Two or three weeks before Pesach, our toddler made the jump from two naps a day to one. I had in my mind that this wouldn’t happen until he hit 18 months, so when he started dropping the afternoon snooze at 15 months, it took me some time to accept it. Sigh. So advanced.

Anyway, I put him down for his one nap today and decided to quickly make myself this awesome-looking frappe that’s been in my bookmarks since it was posted. It would take five minutes, and then I’d start working.

Except not. Because my frail food processor bowl exploded. In an instant, a little piece of plastic snapped out of the side and frappe sprayed everywhere — my face, my clothes, the counter, the floor … did I mention it was everywhere? In case you’re wondering, what I salvaged of the drink was delicious. I just need a new processor bowl before I make another one.

Thanks for the suggestion of the David Lebovitz Crispy Baked Tofu. Made it tonight with some stir fried veggies and it’s fantastic!

Ours didn’t get any further than marination. The toddler swiped it. :)

sorry to hear about your food processor. did you use crushed ice or cubes? even with a blender, you should use crushed ice. it’s easier…

Where do you get crushed ice? And what if what you really want is crushed milk?
